Assistance is available to those needing help paying their bills.

Payment assistance

Payment support

Defer your payment to avoid a disconnection. Request payment extension online or call member services, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

We understand at certain times a member may need to make a payment after the due date. The amount you should pay after the due date is located below your balance on your bill.

If you’re in a situation where you need assistance paying your bill a state Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program provider may be able to help. Bluebonnet understands that sometimes people face challenging times and might struggle to pay their utility bill. If you are unable to pay your bill or need to talk about payment extension options, please contact member services at 800-842-7708, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, a state Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program provider may be able to help. State and federal assistance

Texas Utility Help Program
Texas renters and homeowners can create an account and apply for assistance.

Texas Utility Help is administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) with funding from the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Accepted applications will receive financial payments made directly to the utility company on the member's benefit.

Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program
This program is for low-income households to meet immediate energy needs and helps to encourage members to evaluate energy use through energy education.

Texas Department of Community Affairs
The Texas Department of Community Affairs provides relief to Texans in need. The Department is the Texas state agency responsible for energy and community assistance activities. 

Weatherization Assistance Program
Low-income members may qualify for a home assessment and improvements to reduce their power bills through the Texas Weatherization Assistance Program administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs runs the Weatherization Assistance Program.
